Abrahams,
Mick Marmalade |
Born 1938 in Romford, Essex. Chris was the originally lead singer in the early 60s outfit Chris Ravel And The Ravers and later found greater success as a songwriter. He was signed up by manager Eve Taylor and composed hits for her artists Adam Faith ("The First Time", "We Are In Love", "If He Tells Me", "I Love Being In Love With You", "Stop Feeling Sorry For Yourself", "Someone's Taken Maria Away") and Sandie Shaw ("Girl Don't Come", "Long Live Love" and "Message Understood"). He scored chart success in his own right during 1965-66 with two catchy, upbeat numbers, "Yesterday Man" and "To Whom It Concerns". Although he occasionally recorded additional solo singles, he had no further chart success and carried on songwriting. Albums
