Brian Poole and the nucleus of the original Tremeloes all went to Park Modern Secondary School in Barking Essex, where they started the band in early 1958.

In 1960 they were signed to Decca Records and were used as a vocal backing band for many top recording artistes until they had their first hit, Twist & Shout, which went to No. 3 in the charts. Next came their massive No.1, Do You Love Me, Candyman (no. 4), Someone Someone (no. 2) plus many more top twenty hits including Three Bells, I Want Candy, Keep on Dancing and Good Lovin'.

In the early 70's Brian and the Tremeloes had gone their separate ways, with Brian pursuing a solo career and at the same time forming his own record company (Outlook Records).

Now with his own backing band, Electrix, whose line-up consists of keyboards, lead guitar, bass guitar and drums, with vocal harmonies added to give the band a great Rock 'n' Roll sound when playing all the hits, as well as a contemporary feel likened to some of the great American bands. All this plus a light show makes them one of the most popular bands around today, who can either excel in cabaret or concert situations, as a self-contained and self-managed outfit offering full percentages to a wide range of reputable agents and promoters.

One of Brian's recording projects also had great success.  Having recruited four other "Stars of the Sixties" - Reg Presley (Troggs); Mike Pender (Ex-Searchers); Tony Crane (Merseybeats) and Clem Curtis (Foundations), they became The Corporation (or more affectionately known as The Travelling Wrinklies). Their first single was the old Showstoppers hit, It Ain't Nothin' but a Houseparty.

Recently Brian has entered into many more recording projects and has completed a new album/CD and a great single written for him by his daughters. Also Brian presented his first BBC Essex 3 hour 'live' radio show with great success. Brian hopes to be regularly 'going live' with his own style radio show, listeners' memories, competitions and phone-ins.

Brian has appeared on many radio and television shows recently, with many more to come both in the UK and Europe. His biggest thrill came a few years ago with a televised appearance on The Royal Gala Performance.

The band have just completed a 12 week sell-out 'Solid Silver Sixties' tour with Peter Noone, Billy J Kramer and Freddie and the Dreamers for Flying Music and in May 1999 began a 16 week UK tour for British Holidays. There is a CD/Album in the shops now named Brian Poole, and a new CD/EP - The Best of Brian Poole & The Tremeloes - is out now.

Brian's first excursion into writing is his book called Talk Back, which he researched and wrote. It is published by Avon Books and is a guide to English slang. A very funny and interesting book, which deserves a read.

This very popular band is in much demand for live appearances and now has an expanding fan club across the country.
